Defending Champions Gor Mahia will hope to put a woeful past week behind them as they shift focus to Wednesday's midweek action against Bandari in a rescheduled fixture.

Defending champions Gor Mahia are under pressure to bounce back from a turbulent week as they prepare to face Bandari FC at the Ukunda Showground on Wednesday in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL).

K'Ogalo aims to regain its footing after disappointing results that have left the club's passionate supporters questioning the direction of the squad.

Gor Mahia's troubles began earlier in the week when they suffered a disheartening 2-1 loss to Nairobi City Stars at the Machakos Stadium.

Despite taking the lead in the first half, City Stars turned the tables in the second half, seizing all three points.

This unexpected setback has raised concerns about cracks forming within the champions' armor, with Gor Mahia notably missing five key players who were away on international duty.

Fan frustration reached a boiling point during the match, with Gor Mahia captain Philemon Otieno having to intervene to calm an irate crowd.

The anger did not subside as Gor Mahia went into their next fixture, the SportPesa Derby against Murang’a Seal on Saturday, hoping to reverse their recent misfortunes.

They appeared to be in cruising, leading 2-0 at halftime thanks to goals from Sharrif Musa and Musa Masika.

However, disaster struck when Murang’a Seal made a stunning comeback in stoppage time, scoring an equalizer that left Gor Mahia’s fans fuming.

Tensions reached a breaking point after the match, as fans reportedly cornered head coach Leonardo Neiva in a troubling scene, allegedly injuring the Brazilian tactician.

There is currently no official word on Neiva's condition or if he will lead the team on Wednesday against Bandari FC.

The stakes are high, as Gor Mahia desperately needs to restore their fans’ confidence and return to winning form.

In stark contrast to Gor Mahia’s recent woes, Bandari FC has had a strong start to their season and remains undefeated.

Sitting comfortably in fifth place on the league table with nine points from five games, Bandari has recorded two wins and three draws.

Their last match was a barren draw with Talanta FC on October 23.

The matchup will be a test for Bandari, who will aim to exploit Gor Mahia's shaky form and capitalize on their home advantage.

Sofapaka vs Police FC

Elsewhere, at Dandora Stadium, Sofapaka will host Police FC in a clash that promises to be closely contested.

The Batoto ba Mungu, have found new life under head coach Robert Matano after a dismal start to the season.

Recent results have seen the team climb out of the relegation zone with back-to-back victories over Shabana and Kakamega Homeboyz, placing11th with eight points.

However, they will face a challenging opponent in Police FC, a side that has shown defensive resilience this season.

Police have only conceded once in their three league matches, drawing against Tusker and Ulinzi, and recently defeating Mathare United 2-0.

Sofapaka will need to bring their best as they look to continue their resurgence against the Law enforcers.
