FKF PL: Sofapaka sink Kakamega Homeboyz as Talanta are held to a draw by Kariobangi Sharks

Sofapaka piled more Misery on Kakamega Homeboyz at the Dandora stadium while Talanta were held to a stalemate by Kariobangi Sharks at the Machakos Stadium.

Sofapaka produced a dominant display to sink Kakamega Homeboyz 2-0 at the Dandora Stadium on Saturday in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL).

Robert Matano opted for Brandon Obiero in goal with Vinedine Ambesa and Derrick Mwanzi in front of him in defence.

In midfield, skipper Humphrey Mieno partnered Joseph Kuloba as Ronald Ssempala spearheaded the attack.

Kakamega Homeboyz' John Waw went with James Ssetuba in goal with Brian Wekesa and Salim Murunga in front of him in defense.

Skipper Estine Esiye took charge of midfield while Oliver Majak joined Hillary Otieno and Nicholas Kiprui in attack.

The Batoto Ba Mungu started well scoring the opening goal in the 4th minute when Ssempala found Baron Ochieng to put Sofapaka ahead early on.

Matano's charges held on to their early lead denying Homeboyz leveling chances to head into the break with their lead intact.

Coming into the second half, Sofapaka proved too resilient for Homeboyz to breakdown as they proceeded to add a second goal to cement their comfortable lead.

Baron Ochieng who found the net in the first half turned provider, assisting John Otieno for Sofapaka's second goal.

Sofapaka managed to keep out Homeboyz to keep a clean sheet in addition to their two goals scored and claim all three points.

FC Talanta vs Kariobangi Sharks

Elsewhere at the Machakos stadium, FC Talanta were held to a stalemate by Kariobangi Sharks as both teams shared the spoils.

Talanta's Jackline Juma went for Oduor Mustapha in goal with captain Njammah Peter in front of him, leading a backline of Michael Jahiro and Ian Omondi.

Derrick Ikholi joined Alex Juma in midfield as Momanyi Enock spearheaded an attack of Emmanuel Osoro and Alex Kipruto.

Kariobangi Sharks maintained Sebastian Wekesa in goal and a backline led by captain Kevin Otiala as Keith Imbali partnered Andreas Odhiambo in midfield.

Paul Jawa led an attacking trio of Fortune Omoto and Stephen Bwire.

Talanta drew first blood in the encounter with Alex Kipruto finding the back of the net in the 21st minute.

The hosts held on to their slender lead going into the break a goal ahead.

In the second-half, Sharks came out guns blazing to pile the pressure on Talanta and their efforts were rewarded in the 57th minute when Ngume brought the side back into the game levelling the scores.

Both teams held on to share the spoils in 1-1 stalemate.
