FKF premier League action resumes with teams looking to get a foot-in in the title race early on.

With another international break coming to an end, FKF Premier League action resumes with clubs eying the country’s most coveted football title with exciting fixtures set to ignite the domestic football scene.

Fans can look forward to some mouth-watering clashes, where top teams will battle for supremacy. Pulse Sports Kenya takes a look at some of the standout matches to watch out for.

Posta Rangers vs Gor Mahia

Posta Rangers take on the defending champions Gor Mahia at the Machakos stadium on Saturday with the Mailers looking to get their momentum going after their match against Shabana was postponed before the international break.

Rangers who pushed K’Ogalo last season, being at the top of the league for some time will hope to make their mark against the 21-time premier league champions.

The mailers so far place, 8th on the log with4 points, having played 3 matches winning1, drawing 1 and losing1.

The defending champions on the other hand have only played one match so far this season that saw them thrash Mathare United 4-0 in their league opener after CAF Champions League duties.

The result was a statement of intent from the Leo Neiva coached side as they look to mount a title defence to secure their record 22nd premier league title.

Mara Sugar vs Shabana

Dubbed the ‘NSL derby’, the fixture promises to be exciting if their history in the National Super League is anything to go by.

The former NSL sides renew their rivalry in the country’s top flight football at the Awendo stadium on Saturday.

Shabana will look to overcome their off-the pitch woes and hope to string together a run of good games, starting with their former NSL foes.

The Millers on the other hand will be hoping to maintain their good start to life in top flight football and improve their log standing on the log with a win against the Gusii side.

The Awendo based team places 4th on the log with 7 points in 4 matches played having won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1 while Shabana who place 12th have only played 2 matches and drawn both.

KCB FC VS Kakamega Homeboys

Can the league leaders KCB maintain their unbeaten run when they take on a Kakamega Homeboyz side eager for a win at the Sportpesa Arena on Saturday?

The Bankers are on a good run of 3 straight wins in 4 games, placing them at the summit but their party could be spoiled by Homeboyz who are eager for a win having not registered a single victory so far, placing 13th on the log with 2 draws and two losses.

Kariobangi Sharks vs AFC Leopards

On Sunday, Machakos stadium will play host to a top-of-the-table clash with Sharks’ unbeaten record on the line as Leopards look to leapfrog them on the log standings.

The two sides are neck-to-neck on the log standings with Sharks placing 2nd just a point above Leopards in 3rd.

Sharks have had a good start to the season with 3 wins and a draw in 4 matches played earning them 10 points and placing just behind the league leaders KCB on goal difference.

Thomas Trucha’s side have had just as good a start to the season with 3 wins and a single loss in 4 matches played.
