Chaos erupted at Machakos Stadium after Murang'a Seal scored a stoppage-time equalizer to draw 2-2 with Gor Mahia, sparking fan outrage that required police intervention.

Chaos erupted at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County after Murang'a Seal equalised in stoppage time to salvage a 2-2 draw against Gor Mahia in a league clash that took place on Saturday afternoon.

K’Ogalo had been making headlines for all the wrong reasons following a shock 2-1 loss to Nairobi City Stars on Monday afternoon. Murang’a Seal had the earliest chance to go ahead in the sixth minute when Humphrey Obina and Elly Saenyi combined well having taken advantage of Gor Mahia’s high line, but Saenyi’s effort went wide off target.

However, it was Gor Mahia that would take the lead in the 23rd minute, when Sharrif Musa left two Murang’a Seal players for dead having gotten on the end of a good pass by Musa Masika to put them into the lead in the 17th minute.

In the 29th minute, Leo Neiva’s hand was forced after Sharrif Musa requested a substitution following an injury, which left the Brazilian tactician to bring on Bryson Wangai. Gor Mahia should have gone two up in the 33rd minute when Samuel Kapen missed a glorious opportunity having gotten on the end of a good cross from Wangai.

However, it did not deter them, and in the 42nd minute, the provider for the first would prove the scorer for the second, when Musa Masika headed the ball into the back of the net from a fantastic Enock Morrison free kick delivery to give them a 2-0 advantage heading into the break.

Murang'a Seal head coach Abdala Juma needed to inject fresh ideas heading into the break, and they seemed to work, as six minutes into the second half, they would reduce the deficit courtesy of Joseph Irungu.

The game then became a damp squib, with neither side really creating real inroads in the others’ halves, and in the end, Gor Mahia would have enough about themselves to hold on to the lead.

Just when Gor Mahia thought they were winning, Murang'a Seal equalised in the dying minutes through Elly Saenyi, and it would be chaos galore afterwards. Incensed Gor Mahia fans went for coach Leo Neiva's head and injured him, and it had to take for the law enforcers to intervene.
