FOOTBALL Five bets to place over the weekend

Twiga • 21:00 - 23.06.2023

Here are five games that could earn you an extra coin over the weekend.

Despite most of the leagues being in off season, there are a few games still on play meaning one can take a chance and make an extra coin.

A number of football tournaments are currently in play with a number of leagues that do not adhere to the regular FIFA football calendar also still ongoing.

Morocco U23 win over Guinea U23

With Morocco being the host country for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, they will be out to impress the home fans in the tournament's curtain raiser.

Morocco are fresh from finishing seventh in the Tournoi Maurice Revello at the start of the month as they used the tournament as build up for their Under AFCON tourney.

Guinea will however not be pushovers having eliminated the joint most successful side in the tournament, Nigeria to qualify for the Under 23 AFCON.

Migori Youth win over Gusii

Migori Youth will be hoping to take a step close to the Football Kenya Federation when they take on Gusii on Saturday in the National Super League.

Their closest challengers to the promotion/relegation playoff, Mara Sugar faltered in the promotion race after drawing against Mombasa Elite on Friday.

Migori Youth have made the Migori Green Stadium a fortress and are yet to suffer a loss at their own backyard all season.

Esperance win over CS Sfaxien

The reigning Tunisian champions will be taking on CS Sfaxien on Saturday looking to boost their chances of retaining their crown having fallen off pace in recent games.

Esperance are strong at home having won all their past three matches at home and are yet to taste defeat in the championship round of the league.

Sfaxien have only won one game away from home in the championship round and will face a difficult task when they come up against Esperance.

Ghana U23 win over Congo U23

Having finished fourth in their debut tournament back in 2019, Ghana will be hoping for a better tournament at their second stab of the tournament.

Ghana played a friendly against Egypt eight days ago and settled for a 1-1 draw and will be looking to start their tournament with a bang.

Congo barely scraped through to the tournament after qualifying on the away goals rule following the 1-1 aggregate draw against South Africa.

Nairobi City Stars vs Gor Mahia Both teams to score

Nairobi City Stars forward Kelvin Etemesi is in good form having scored 12 goals in the last 13 games with his goals playing a major part in their survival.

Gor Mahia have one simple task of winning the game and extending their record to 20 league titles which has been elusive since 2020.

K’Ogalo cracked under pressure last time out against Kakamega Homeboyz suffering a 3-2 loss and taking the title race to the wire.
