The FIFA World Cup 2026 African Qualifiers draws will be held on July 13 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, next week.

Uganda Cranes has been seeded in Pot three of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which the USA, Canada and Mexico will co-host.

The seedings that were released by the world football governing body were based on the FIFA Rankings for June.

Uganda was seeded in the same pot with neighbours Kenya, Benin, Mauritania, Congo, Madagascar, Guinea Bissau, Namibia and Angola.

That means the nine cannot meet in the group stages.

The qualification format will have nine groups of six teams, with the winners from each qualifying for the finals because Africa’s slots were increased to at least nine and a maximum of ten.

The four best runners-up will be drawn in a mini-playoff to find one extra team that will advance to the Intercontinental playoffs.

The draws will be held on July 13 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast next week.
