Despite enduring a winningless run under ex-coach Finidi George, the Super Eagles have managed to remain as one of the top teams in world football.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have maintained its position as one of the topmost-ranked teams in Africa in the latest edition of the FIFA rankings.

In the latest FIFA ranking, the Super Eagles, who are without a manager following Finidi George’s resignation, are ranked 39th in the world, dropping one place from the previous position.

Nigeria's drop in the FIFA ranking can be attributed to the last two World Cup qualifiers, where the Super Eagles drew 1-1 with South Africa before falling to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of minnows Benin Republic.
