Tanzanian club Azam FC have tabled a multi-million contract offer to in-demand midfielder Feisal Salum, popularly known as Fei Toto, amid interest from South Africa, but will he sign?
Tanzanian club Azam FC have tabled a lucrative contract proposal to midfielder Feisal Salum in a bid to fend off interest from South African giants Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Popularly known as Fei Toto, the Zanzibari has become a subject of transfer interest from both Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns following his impressive performances for Azam in the Tanzanian league, having scored 21 goals in 2023-24.
He has continued his rich vein of form this season, scoring four goals and adding nine assists, increasing interest in him from the PSL giants.

‘He will make a good coach’ - Kenyan goalkeeper backs Benni McCarthy for Harambee Stars job
The Harambee Stars goalkeeper feels the Bafana Bafana legend will be a success in Kenya owing to his vast experience both as a player and coach in South Africa and Europe.
Salum has 18 months remaining on his contract and Chiefs have been heavily linked as their coach Nasreddine Nabi worked with the player during his stint at Yanga but Azam have tabled a multi-million deal to wade off the interest from South Africa.
As per Soka25east, Azam are giving Fei Toto a new two-year deal that includes a signing-on fee of $320,000 (Ksh41 million) and a monthly salary of $12,000 (Ksh1.55 million) to convince him to extend his stay at the club.
Azam view Salum as an important member of the squad as he is one the reasons they finished second last term to qualify for the CAF Champions League, while he has played a major role in their run to third place this term, having garnered 36 points, four behind leaders Simba SC.
The Tanzania club recently refuted claims that the star midfielder could leave in the January transfer window.
“We can confirm that there have been no discussions between Kaizer Chiefs or any club and Azam FC regarding Feisal Salum. He remains under contract with Azam FC and respects the club, which we appreciate,” Azam spokesperson Hashim Ibwe said in November.
Salum is currently on international duty for Zanzibar in the Mapinduzi Cup and was the match winner as his country beat Kilimanjaro Stars (Tanzania Mainland) 1-0 in their opening match on Friday, having scored the lone goal.
