The Frenchman visited Sweden last week when the incident allegedly happened but he has dismissed it as fake news.

French striker Kylian Mbappe has been accused of 'rape' after visiting Sweden with friends last week even as his hearing over £46 million in unpaid wages and bonuses with PSG starts on Tuesday.

The Real Madrid superstar, who gave the October Nations League matches a wide berth, was visiting Sweden with friends from Wednesday to Friday last week, staying at the Bank Hotel in the city centre.

The English version of the tweet has since been deleted from Mbappe's X account. It is claimed the alleged rape took place on Thursday. Mbappe had earlier that night visited the Chez Jolie restaurant, before heading to the V nightclub and finally back to his hotel in a black van with his entourage. The former Monaco attacker shared on X a newspaper article about an alleged rape at the hotel and wrote: 'Fake News! It's becoming so predictable, just before the hearing as if by chance.'

Expressen said the report was filed with police two days later. Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reports that police are investigating a rape at the central Stockholm hotel, which allegedly happened Thursday night. Investigators and a forensic unit were at the alleged crime scene on Monday, according to Aftonbladet.

The newspaper reported that the alarm over the alleged rape was raised when the woman 'sought care' at a local hospital. Mbappe left Sweden's Bromma airport in a private jet on Friday. Mbappe who is nursing an injury, will hope to be fit for the Real Madrid La Liga clash against Celta Vigo on October 20.
