NFF official shuts down allegiance switch claims

Veteran journalist Oluwasina Okeleji revealed that a senior NFF source categorically denied the reports, stating, "Only a federation can apply on behalf of players if they intend to switch, news circulating now is fake news."

Earlier, rumours suggested that Chukwuemeka and Ugochukwu were set to join Nigeria's squad ahead of the March World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Rwanda.

However, both players, who are eligible to represent Nigeria through their heritage, have not taken any formal steps to change their international allegiance from England and France, respectively.

Super Eagles squad selection still unclear

With newly appointed head coach Eric Chelle yet to announce his first official squad, speculation continues to swirl over potential call-ups.
