Brentford and England striker Ivan Toney has been banned by the FA for betting-related breaches.
Brentford star Ivan Toney has been banned from football activities for the next eight months as punishment for over 232 betting breaches along with a £50,000 fine.
The 27-year-old Brentford star was charged earlier for breaking FA betting guidelines, and after admitting to several of the charges, he has now been punished and will be unable to play for Brentford or England until January 16.
What Toney did
The England international was charged with 262 breaches of the FA betting regulations, 232 of which he admitted, while the remaining 30 were withdrawn.
He was charged with infractions that ran from February 25, 2017, until January 23, 2021.
The striker had a personal hearing with an independent regulatory commission, which moved to punish him.

Chelsea star Aubameyang makes u-turn on his international future
Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to return to the Gabon national team after announcing his retirement a year ago.
This could impact a possible transfer for the striker, who has been in exceptional scoring form this season with 20 goals, only behind Erling Haaland (36) and Harry Kane (27).
Although Brentford's safety in the Premier League is confirmed, finishing in European places is still a mathematically achievable goal; however, the probability has now been hampered by Toney's abrupt absence.
