Ndidi will be a free agent this summer, making him a prime target for several clubs
Everton are eager to reinforce their squad as they strive to avoid a fourth consecutive season battling relegation in the Premier League and have identified Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, whose contract with Leicester City is set to expire at the end of June as a prime target.
The Toffees have been tracking Ndidi for several months and have now made a formal offer to secure his services despite facing stiff competition from multiple European clubs.
Intense Competition for Ndidi's Signature
Ndidi, who made 32 appearances for Leicester City last season, has attracted interest from several top clubs across Europe. Alongside Everton, French sides Marseille and Lyon have also extended offers to the 27-year-old midfielder.
Additionally, Monaco and Sevilla have shown keen interest in acquiring Ndidi as a free agent. With no signs of a contract extension with Leicester, Ndidi's impending free agency has placed him in high demand.
Everton face biggest competition from Marseille
Marseille, in particular, are heavily pursuing Ndidi, as reported by La Provence, meaning Everton will have to prepare a competitive package to lure Ndidi to Goodison Park.
The Toffees have sent in a contract offer for Ndidi, but so have Marseille and Lyon, leaving the final decision in the Super Eagles star’s hands.
Other sides like Sevilla and Monaco could also enter the race for Ndidi with a contract offer for the defensive midfielder, which could complicate matters further for Everton.
