Everton point deduction punishment looms
The Premier League have claimed that because interest payments for the stadium were excluded, the breach in 2022–2023 was much greater.
It is in addition to the £16 million overspend for which they have already been deducted points for interest payments related to the construction of their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Premier League's claim that their losses should be increased by £17 million in interest payments was denied by an impartial panel that applied the second points deduction.
However, it has stated that it would re-examine payments totalling £6.5 million, as they may indicate yet another violation.
According to SunSport, despite the Toffees and the League's repeated requests for an answer, the commission has not yet informed them when they will make a decision.
The Premier League asserts that as the contested £6.5 million was utilised for ongoing operating expenses, it should be added to the club's expenditures.

Everton, however, are adamant that it be eliminated because stadium expenses are not taken into account when determining PSR.
Despite the allegations levelled against them, Everton are confident that they will not be facing any PSR charges in the new season.
