England come back from the dead to advance to quarterfinals
England toiled for 95 minutes as defeat seemed almost certain for the Three Lions.
Gareth Southgate was a dead man walking from the 25th minute when Ivan Schranz scored to give Slovakia the lead.
Southgate's men huffed and puffed to no avail, with Slovakia defending resolutely throughout the first half.
The theme continued in the second as the England boss made the changes, including putting Bukayo Saka at left back.
Eventually, Jude Bellingham stepped up. After a torrid few games, the Real Madrid man sent in a sensational bicycle kick past Martin Dubravka to tie the game in the 95th minute.
Harry Kane scored the winner 10 minutes into extra-time to send England through.
