FKFPL Eugene Asike warns Tusker not to underestimate Shabana in pivotal clash

Tusker have lost two games in a row and cannot afford to lose a third against Shabana on Sunday, Asike has claimed.

Tusker defender Eugene Asike is hungry to make amends for the side’s recent bad run of form when they face Shabana at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay on Sunday.

The brewers lost 1-0 to Shabana at Kasarani back in October, and will be hoping their old boy Sammy Omollo ‘Pamzo’ does complete a double over them.

Asike, who returned to the club on a one-year contract after a spell in Sweden, has revealed that the side have prepared well for the clash and will be hoping they can get the victory to get their league campaign back on track.

“We had a good preparation and all the lads are looking forward to tomorrow’s game (against Shabana)," said Asike.

“We know it is an important game for us. We have lost two games in a row, so everybody is really working hard to get back to winning ways.

“We took it as a learning process. It is not normal. We learn from our mistakes. We have trained really well.”

Asike has warned his teammates not to underestimate the Glamor Boys, urging them not to take anything for granted.

“It is definitely a good side. We lost in the first leg but we are here to make amends. We want to step out on this field and give it our all and work hard as a team to do our best to get all the three points.

“We need to get all the three points so that the feel-good factor can get back into the team. We need that and everybody in the camp is really focused on the game.

“We had a good run before the two loses and we want to get back to that good run.”
