A top English Premier League club has invited the son of former Boston Marathon winner Wesley Korir for football trials, marking a significant step in his pursuit of a professional career.
English Premier League side Newcastle United has extended an invitation to the son of Kenya's former Boston Marathon champion Wesley Korir for football trials.
Jayden Korir, who attends Borussia Dortmund International Academy in Canada, is currently undergoing trials with the prestigious English club, marking a major step forward in his journey to professional football.

"I signed him up for football hoping he will get a chance to train for his running, little did I know that he will be this good and take it to this level. But I am happy for him,” said Korir in an interview with SportPesa blog.
“He loves the game. He has put in so much work to be the best, and as a father, I am giving him 100% support and giving him a chance to succeed."

Jayden made his way to England accompanied by his father,whose dedication to nurturing his son's dreams has been unwavering.
Korir, who represented Kenya on the global marathon stage and even served as Member of Parliament for Cherangany, has made countless sacrifices to ensure his son has the foundation he needs to excel.
His commitment has gone as far as building a mini soccer field in his home compound providing a personal space for his son to practice and grow his skills.
“I have been there for him and looking for opportunities for him everywhere in the world. I had to build him a mini soccer field outside our house for him to train in,” Korir explained.
"I have also been taking him to every practice,” he added.
The entire family’s success in sports is evident: Korir's younger brother, John Korir, recently captured the Chicago Marathon title, carrying on the family’s remarkable legacy in distance running.
Jayden plays as a goalkeeper and continues to impress scouts with his dedication and talent as he raises hopes that his trials with Newcastle United will lead to the next major step in his budding football career.
