England and Spain to battle for FIFA Women’s World Cup glory at Stadium Australia on Sunday.

England and Spain will trade tackles in the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup at Stadium Australia on Sunday.

The Lionesses overcame Australia with a 3-1 victory on Wednesday afternoon in the second semi-final, while Spain defeated Sweden 2-1 on Tuesday in Auckland.

Ella Toone scored the opening goal for England in the 36th minute, but Sam Kerr netted the equaliser in the 63rd minute for the hosts.

Lauren Hemp restored England's lead in the 71st minute, before Alessia Russo put the game to bed in the 86th minute of the match.

From the opening whistle, both teams exhibited a palpable sense of urgency, fully aware of the stakes at hand. 

The tension on the field was matched by the electric atmosphere in the stadium, as fans from around the world gathered to witness history in the making.

England struck first, with Ella Tone making her mark in the 36th minute. A well-executed play saw Tone seize an opportunity and clinically slot the ball into the net, sending the Lionesses' faithful into rapturous celebration.
