The Gor Mahia player has been axed from the squad at club level by Gor head coach Leo Neiva due to a 'lack of commitment'.
“Rooney (Onyango) missed the game because of lack of commitment, behaviour, and discipline. We are a team and we need to work together for teamwork,” Martins Neiva told SportsBoom.com at the time when the versatile player was dropped from the squad in the build up to the crucial CAF Champions League fixture against Al-ahly.
“This is an internal issue that we are going to solve," added Neiva.
