CAF announced that they’ll conduct the 2024 FIFA Women’s World Cup U-17 and U-20 qualifiers draws on Thursday in Cairo, Egypt.

The Uganda U-17 and U-20 women's National Teams will know their opponents for the second round of the respective 2024 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Thursday.

CAF announced that they’ll conduct the draws for the two qualifiers on Thursday in Cairo, Egypt.

FUFA registered both teams for the two qualifiers as countries continued to shun the women’s competition.

Only 25 of the 48 African nations registered their national women’s team to participate in the U-17, while 34 registered for the older version.

Teen Cranes

Two teams - Central Africa and Mauritius – are unranked and, therefore, will be drawn to play in the first round, with the winner facing bronze winners from the 2022 finals in India last year.

Uganda, Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania are the six registered teams from the CECAFA region.

They will be drawn against the six teams from Central and South Africa.

They include; Cameroon, DR Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, South Africa and Zambia.

Only three teams will represent Africa.

Queen Cranes

The Queen Cranes (Uganda U-20) were registered alongside Burundi, Djibouti, Tanzania and Kenya from the CECAFA region.

They will be drawn against Egypt and seven teams from Southern African.

The Teen Cranes were stopped by Ethiopia in the second round in their attempt last year while their elders Queen Cranes reached the fourth round but lost to Ghana.
