FKF is silent since giving players a promise of settling their wages.
Harambee Stars players who failed to get national team call-ups for the Four Nations Tournament currently happening in Mauritius are pressing the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for their unpaid allowances from a previous assignment.
FKF and the players negotiated a Ksh78,000 settlement for the trip to Tehran in which Kenya played Iran losing 2-1 in March 2023.
The federation, however, paid just Ksh22,300 for the fixture in which Harambee Stars led courtesy of Michael Olunga before dramatically capitulating in the dying minutes.

The former Gor Mahia forward is coming off an impeccable season where he won the Qatar Stars League Golden Boot.
“The federation said they were waiting for the government to give them money before they sort us. They have been silent since then,” lamented one of the players
The players fear those allowances, in upwards of fifty thousand shillings, will be forgotten by the federation as time passes by. FEF and its predecessor KFF are notorious for not paying players their rightful wages.

The defensive midfielder made his Kenya debut in May 2007 in a friendly against Nigeria at the age 15.
"It is the historical defaults by the federation that have players up in arms. We just want our money. If we are no longer good enough for the national team we should at least get our rightful dues,” one player told Twiga.
Another player who had cold feet about going to the volatile region disclosed that he barely made it after being convinced no harm would come to a national team travelling for sports.

Thee 24-year-old Danish-born defender made his debut for Harambee Stars against Iran in March.
“I must admit that trip was the riskiest I ever made but we went and did our best. We have not been putting pressure on the federation to pay us but it seems they have moved on and our plight is forgotten.”
FKF have not issued any update regarding the pending payments. Current and former players have really saddening cases of the federation failing to honour their end when it comes to remunerations.

A debilitating FIFA ban imposed on Kenya when the government sent the FKF National Executive Committee and Secretariat packing lasted just long enough for the country to be knocked out of contention for major tournaments.
Kenya is thus, confined to playing friendly matches while contemporaries fight for Africa Cup of Nations and other events. The federation is preparing Harambee Stars for a stab at the2025 AFCON.
