Theo Bongoda converted from the spot as Sebastian Desabre’s DR Congo lead Uganda by 1-0 in a friendly build-up match played at the Japoma Stadium in Douala, Cameroon.
The Leopards looked the better side from the first half and could have gone ahead after 12 minutes but Aaron Tshibola saw his brushed header off Bongoda’s header skew wide.
Abada Akolo got another close chance 10 minutes later, pouncing on a rebound but saw his effort rattle the upright with Salim Jamal well-beaten.
