Shabana won big on the pitch and in their bank balance during Sunday’s 4-1 thrashing of Kakamega Homeboyz when they banked a huge sum from their sold-out stadium.

Shabana FC harvested points and money from their 4-1 thrashing of Kakamega Homeboyz at Gusii Stadium on Sunday.

Tore Bobe returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion when they put Homeboyz to the sword with goals from Elvis Osok, two from Oscar Juma and Brian Michira’s late strike downing the visitors, who pulled one back courtesy of Henry Omollo.

It was a great day for Shabana as the club also made nearly Ksh1.2 million in matchday revenue from a sold-out Gusii Stadium.

Following the conclusion of the match, the club revealed that it had made Ksh1,184,600 from ticket sales thanks to their supporters who turned out in large numbers.

Shabana fans keep setting the records when it comes to match attendance as they have not abandoned their team even when they went through a four-match winless streak before Sunday’s big victory.

The Glamour Boys endured a tough February, when they did not win a match, drawing three while losing one, a spell in which supporters blamed on a lack of clinical striker.

However, after some reinforcements in the midseason transfer window, things are looking up given the way they have started March which gives them hope of a top placing on the table at the end of the season.

Shabana have experienced an improvement in fortunes since Peter Okidi took over late last year from Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo and they now sit in sixth position after fighting relegation for the whole of last season.
