The Spanish giants have captured the highly-sought-after teenager for a big money transfer from Borussia Dortmund
Real Madid have finally confirmed the signing of England midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
The 19-year-old has signed a six-year contract with the Spanish giants and will be unveiled on Thursday.
“Real Madrid CF and Borussia Dortmund have agreed on the transfer of the player Jude Bellingham, who will remain linked to our club for the next six seasons,” Madrid said via a statement on Wednesday.
“Tomorrow, Thursday, June 15, at 12:00 noon at Real Madrid City, the presentation ceremony for Jude Bellingham as a new Real Madrid player will take place. Next, Jude Bellingham will appear before the media.”
Bellingham has shot to prominence after another sensational season with Dortmund, and has become one of England’s most important players, excelling at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Interest from England and the Premier League was strong, with Manchester City looking likely to rival any bid after Liverpool ruled themselves out of the running for financial reasons.
The fee required to bring Bellingham to LaLiga was estimated to be in the region of £115million, despite the fact that the teenager only had two years left on current contract with Dortmund.
Real chiefs were in discussions with their Dortmund counterparts for weeks over the final amount and bonuses before finally sealing the transfer.
While Dortmund will receive a huge financial boost in the deal, they are not the only beneficiaries, with boyhood club Birmingham City set to earn a 15 per cent cut of any deal.
The player will also receive hefty wages, which are reported to be around £400,000-a-week despite his relative being only 19, showing just how highly he is valued.
Madrid are looking to add more quality to their squad after losing Karim Benzema to Saudi Arabia champions Al Ittihad while Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio and Mariano Diaz were released at the end of last season.
The Los Blancos are also heavily linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe who has told the French champions that he will not extend his stay with the club beyond next season.
