The Red Devils have been shocking in front of their own fans this season in the Premier League
Manchester United's creative struggles at Old Trafford this season have been glaring, with opposition players outshining the Red Devils in key areas even on their own turf.
Manchester United’s slow start
After three games at Old Trafford, Manchester United’s top chance creators; Casemiro, Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount, and Alejandro Garnacho, have each managed fewer chances than visiting opponents.
Between them, they’ve created a combined 17 chances across all three home matches this season, with Brazilian midfielder Casemiro creating the most with five chances created for the Red Devils, but it hasn't been enough to spark the team’s attack.
The Red Devils have won just one of their three home games, losing the other two heavily to both Liverpool and Tottenham in 3-0 defeats, and have managed only one goal while conceding six.
Visiting stars outshining Manchester United stars
In three home games, Dejan Kulusevski of Tottenham’s nine chances created during Spurs' 3-0 victory at Old Trafford is the most of any player at Manchester United’s home ground.
Former Manchester United academy player Andreas Pereira, now at Fulham, who created six chances in one game at the same venue, is the second-best chance creator at Old Trafford this season.
The poor home form is in stark contrast to the team's expectations, as the Red Devils have struggled to make their presence felt at Old Trafford, with only one goal to show for their efforts in the Premier League so far.
With such creative underperformance and defensive vulnerabilities, Manchester United will need to turn things around quickly if they hope to restore the dominance they've traditionally enjoyed on home turf.
