In his role as the Uganda Cranes captain, Dennis Onyango, alongside former head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic, led Uganda to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Throughout the years, the duo established a formidable working partnership, leading to Coach Micho appointing Onyango as the Cranes captain in April 2017.
Consequently, their bond remained strong, making Onyango's emotional farewell to Micho, following his dismissal on Thursday, a predictable occurrence.
"On 04/09/2016, your immense contribution to Ugandan football will forever be etched in our memories, Coach Micho," expressed Onyango, sharing his sentiments on his social media platforms.
"In my football career, you have been like a father figure to me. Wishing you all the best, Coach," concluded the Mamelodi Sundowns star.
