Liverpool reject mouthwatering Saudi Arabia bid for Mohammed Salah.

Premier League giants Liverpool have reportedly turned down a sizable offer from Saudi Professional League side Al-Ittihad for the signing of Mohammed Salah.

The SPL champions have had their eyes on the 31-year-old Egyptian international for weeks and are said to be willing to go all out for him. They were said to have made a bid, but the Reds rejected it.

What Happened

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Merseyside giants turned down a bid of £100 million plus add-ons from AL-Ittihad for Salah.

The club have reportedly stated that the Egypt international is not for sale; however, the SPL side could return to further test their resolve with an improved bid.

Liverpool’s decision to reject the bid is consistent with Klopp’s earlier statement, where he stated that the former Roma forward was not for sale.

More on Liverpool

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s highest goalscorer ever, Ian Rush, has tipped the club’s Premier League rivals to win the UEFA Champions League in the Reds’ absence.

Rush is revered in Liverpool after scoring 346 goals in 660 games for the Reds, winning the European Cup twice and the Premier League on five occasions.

Despite his fame on Merseyside, Rush would have made some enemies after his latest declaration, where he pitched his tent with Liverpool’s fierce rivals as the favourites for this season’s UCL title.

Rush, who was Liverpool’s top scorer in eight separate seasons, backed Manchester City to win the UCL and was quoted by Gazzetta dello Sport as saying, “I think Manchester City are still the favourite. They are the defending champions, they’ve brought reinforcements and are surely the strongest.”
