Nottingham Forest will have more African stars with Ivorian midfielder Ibrahim Sangare ditching the Champions League to link up with Taiwo Awoniyi and compatriot Serge Aurier.

Premier League side Nottingham Forest are set to add to their African quota with the addition of Ivory Coast international Ibrahim Sangare.

Sangare is set to join Forest on deadline day from Dutch giant PSV Eindhoven.

The Ivorian was in action as PSV demolished Scottish giants Rangers to reach the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, UCL.

He has proven to be a reliable player at the base of the midfield for the Dutch side.

On Wednesday, he was excellent again as PSV thrashed Rangers 5-1 in the second leg of their UCL qualifiers.

Sangare completed 85 per cent of his passes, created one chance, made one key pass, made one interception and sic recoveries.

However, despite being one of the first names on the PSV starting eleven, the Ivorian is set for a shock move to Premier League side Forest.

“Nottingham Forest are closing in on a deal to sign Ibrahim Sangaré from PSV,” Romano posted on X.com.

He added that an agreement between both clubs is on the verge of being sealed with the Tricky Tees expected to pay in excess of 36 million euros in transfer fees which will include add-ons.

Once completed, Sangare will join compatriot Serge Aurier and Nigeria’s Awoniyi, who recently became the third African to score in seven consecutive matches after the goal in the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United last weekend.
