The former Nzoia Sugar FC, known for vanishing acts, has returned to lead Bungoma Superstars to glory.

Former Nzoia Sugar FC head coach Ibrahim Shikanda has been unveiled as the new FKF Division One side Bungoma Superstars tactician.

Shikanda, who recently served as an assistant coach at Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz, returns to Bungoma Superstars after four years.

The seasoned coach had previously been part of the team in 2018, contributing to a memorable season before his stint with Kenya Premier League side Bandari FC as an assistant coach.

Shikanda's coaching journey has not been without its share of drama, as he caused a stir in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League during the 2021/2022 season while at Nzoia Sugar.

His absence during a crucial match against KCB on December 30, 2021, raised eyebrows, yet the team managed to secure a remarkable two-all draw despite trailing 2-0.

Notably, Shikanda also went missing during a match against Gor Mahia, where Nzoia Sugar FC held the formidable opponent to a one-all draw at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma.

Bungoma Superstars expressed delight in announcing Shikanda as the new head coach, highlighting his return to the club after four years.

The club reminisced about Shikanda's earlier stint in 2018, describing it as a memorable season before he ventured into the Kenya Premier League with Bandari FC.

With experience gained during his playing days, including Tusker FC, Mumias Sugar FC, and even at the international level with Harambee Stars, Shikanda brings a wealth of expertise to the touchline.

The club believes that Shikanda's return will significantly contribute to their pursuit of promotion to the National Super League (NSL).

“We believe that Shikanda’s return to Bungoma Superstars will help us get the coveted promotion to the National Super League (NSL)," the club revealed.
