Fenerbahce's vicious attack on Galatasaray has caused the Turkish Super Lig to be embroiled in yet another scandal.

This comes following tumultuous scenes during their game against Adana Demirspor, in which the visiting squad stormed off the field in rage after falling behind 1-0.

In the 30th minute, after the home team was awarded a penalty, the bottom-place Süper Lig team protested by walking off the pitch.

Dries Mertens was pulled down, and Galatasaray was given a penalty in the 12th minute. The VAR affirmed the referee's judgement when the Adana Demirspor players protested that this was diving, and Álvaro Morata scored from the penalty spot.

Fenerbahce’s Furious Statement

In response to Galatasaray's tweet on their official X page, Fenerbahce issued a harsh statement accusing Galatasaray of exploiting the system amid the escalating tensions in Turkish football.

The statement reads, “With your irregular contracts, black market tickets, and illegal betting advertisements, you are harming our State and the Turkish Football Federation.

“Thanks to you, there is neither trust nor justice left! But the most innocent and victimised one is always you! Congratulations, what have you done to Turkish football?”

As Turkey's top two clubs continue to compete for the title, the gap between the two Istanbul-based clubs widens even more after the statement.
