What Zverev said
Zverez is a German tennis professional and is famously a Bayern Munich fan. Ignoring the fact that the Bavarians have recently hired Vincent Kompany for the head manager role, the 27-year-old gold medalist implored Guardiola to return for his second stint as Bayern boss.
"We had so many great guests today,” Zverez acknowledged. “For me, football legend with Pep Guardiola. When I saw Pep, I got so nervous for a few games there so thanks a lot for coming; it's a great privilege, great honour to play."
The two-time Grand Slam semi-finalist is an admirer of Guardiola, as he even offered the Spaniard the chance to coach him in tennis.
"And by the way, last thing. Bayern Munich needs a coach man. And if you're tired of football, you can coach me on the tennis court any time."
Guardiola is still under contract at Manchester City until at least 2025. Their season begins with a community shield clash against Manchester United before facing Chelsea in game week one of the Premier League.
