The Chelsea star beat competition from Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes and Arsenal's Kai Havertz to claim the April Player of the Month award
Chelsea starlet Cole Palmer has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Month for April after an outstanding month for the Blues.
The England international beat out competition from a number of the Premier League’s stars to claim the coveted award.
Palmer claims April POTM award
Palmer became the first Chelsea player since Eden Hazard in 2018 to win the monthly award ending a six-year wait for the Blues.
The Chelsea star scored seven goals and provided one assist to register eight goal contributions in only four appearances in April in the Premier League.
He scored four goals in Chelsea’s 6-0 win over Everton, as well as a hat-trick against Manchester United in a 4-3 win over the Red Devils in two of the best performances in the league in April.
Palmer beats Premier League stars to April award
Chelsea’s Palmer beat the likes of Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Manchester City’s Josko Gvardiol, Arsenal’s Kai Havertz, Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Everton’s Jordan Pickford to win the April Player of the Month award.
This was the first POTM award of Palmer’s career, having also won the PL2 POTM last season with Manchester City.
Palmer will be hoping that this award win will be the beginning of things to come as he was also nominated for the Premier League Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.
