Club Brugge led the tie by two goals up until the 75th minute of the game, before a quick fire double by Antwerp leveled the game 2-2, and ensured both teams shared the spoils.
Club Brugge hosted Antwerp at the Jay Breydel stadium in a proverbial six-pointer, with Antwerp second on the log before the game on thirty-four points and Club Brugge directly behind on thirty-two.
The first goal came from Brandon Mechele for Club Brugge on the 34th minute ensuring the home side went into the break ahead and with a chance to leap frog their visitors on the log. The second goal happened 17 minutes into the second half from the highly sought after Noa Lang assisted by the former Barca man Ferran Jutgla. Everything pointed towards a victory for the home side before an extended period of dominance from Antwerp earned them a goal from substitute Michael Frey and an opportunity from the penalty spot which was dispatched brilliantly by former Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen.
The result earned both teams a point which is not good enough for either team in their pursuit of runaway first place Genk on forty-three points and leaves both vulnerable to being leap-frogged by Union Saint-Gilloise who are currently facing off against Standard Liege.
