Super Eagles hopeful Josh Maja's hopes of playing again this season have been given a boost by his manager on one condition
Josh Maja is unlikely to return to action this season as West Brom coach Tony Mowbray confirmed the striker is still recovering from a lower leg injury.
The Super Eagles hopeful has been sidelined since January and could now miss the club’s remaining matches.
Injury concerns grow as Maja remains sidelined for West Brom
Maja had 12 goals and two assists in 26 appearances before his injury in January, forcing him to undergo surgery.

Initial reports suggested he could return by February, but completing his rehabilitation has taken longer than expected.
West Brom’s last 14 games have been without their key forward, and with only seven fixtures left, Maja’s return looks unlikely.

Since Maja’s injury, the Baggies have missed their star forward, winning only four of their 14 matches without him since January, falling from Championship title contenders to Playoff hopefuls, while also crashing out of the FA Cup.
Mowbray shares optimism for Maja return
Speaking about the striker’s recovery, Mowbray remained hopeful yet cautious, saying: "Maja is happy and smiley, but still feels a little bit away.
)
“Hopefully, if we extend the season, he might have a part to play. He’s been in a brace for most of my time here. When I see him, he’s always positive and looking forward to returning."
West Brom currently sit in sixth place, the final Championship playoff spot and ff they hold onto that position and qualify for the playoffs, Maja could make a return this season.

However, if they fail to make the cut, the Nigerian forward will have to wait until pre-season before stepping onto the pitch again.
