"Inter official balance shared this week confirm they've received €50.2m fee for André Onana from Manchester United," Romano stated through his social media channels.
The final transfer fee stands at €50.2 million, slightly adjusted from the initial agreement of €52.5 million plus €5 million in performance-based add-ons as reported after the deal was completed in the summer of 2023.
This transfer represented a crucial investment for Manchester United following the departure of longtime goalkeeper and club legend David de Gea.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper committed to a five-year contract with the Red Devils, extending until June 2028, with the club retaining an option for an additional year.
The 27-year-old's acquisition was particularly significant as he was reunited with his former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag, who has now been relieved of his duties at United following a terrible run of bad results.
Onana arrived at Old Trafford with an impressive pedigree, having played a key role in Inter Milan's journey to the 2023 UEFA Champions League final.
His modern goalkeeping style, characterised by excellent distribution and comfort with the ball at his feet, aligned perfectly with Ten Hag's tactical philosophy.
However, the goalkeeper's time at the club, led by his inaugural season at Manchester United, has produced mixed results, falling short of the high expectations that accompanied his high-profile transfer.
