The Nigerian sensation put in a man-of-the-match performance as AC Milan booked a place in the quarterfinal of the Coppa Italia with a resounding victory.

Chukwueze scored the first and third goals for AC Milan, with more goals coming from Tijjani Reijnders, Rafael Leao, Davide Calabria, and Tammy Abraham, while Sassuolo got a consolation from Samuele Mulattieri.

How it happened

The hosts blew their opponents away with a stunning first-half performance, netting four goals in just 23 minutes.

Samuel Chukwueze opened the scoring, capitalising on his own rebound after hitting the post before Tijjani Reijnders doubled the lead with a spectacular strike from distance.

Chukwueze grabbed his brace with a composed finish to make it 3-0 to the Rossoneri, and Rafael Leao added a fourth, leaving Sassuolo overwhelmed.

Though Sassuolo steadied themselves in the second half, Milan maintained their dominance. Davide Calabria curled in a sublime fifth, and Tammy Abraham completed the rout with a clinical strike.

Sassuolo did manage a consolation goal late on, as Samuele Mulattieri fired in a powerful effort at the near post.
