It seems newly promoted Burnley have a target audience on their mind following their return to the Premier League.
Premier League new boys Burnley have confirmed the signing of a new striker with a special announcement.
Burnley have signed Swiss star Zeki Amdouni from giants Basel in a statement on their website.
“Burnley Football Club are delighted to announce the arrival of Switzerland international Zeki Amdouni,” the club said.
Amdouni has put pen to paper on a five-year contract that will keep him at Burnley until the summer of 2027.
Burnley’s cheeky Teletubbies video
The club confirmed Amdouni’s transfer with a brilliant video on their social media pages.
The video posted on Twitter showed the popular kiddies program Teletubbies revealing the new signing.
The quartet of Twinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa-laa and Po all combined to unveil the 22-year-old forward, who had a message for fans of the Clarets.
“Hello, I am very happy to be here and i am excited to play,” he stated in the video. “Up Clarets.”
Zeki’s brief
Born in Geneva, the talented attacker made his senior debut for his native country last year before scoring his first goal for Switzerland in March against Belarus. He followed that up with four more goals in his next three games.
Zeki went on to represent the U21s this summer in the UEFA U21 European Championship where he scored in the quarter-finals against Spain.
He netted 12 goals in the Super League last season and was the top scorer in the UEFA Conference League with seven goals.
On why the club signed him, manager, Vincent Kompany added that the youngster is an intelligent goal threat.
"Zeki is such a goal threat. The way he can play the final pass creates so many assists and thanks to the amount of work he puts in on the pitch - he scores plenty himself.
"He’s a very intelligent footballer, technically gifted and with a great work ethic. He works really hard!”
