Chelsea summer signing Nicolas Jackson has withdrawn from the Senegal squad in order to undergo surgery on a hand injury.
Jackson injured his wrist at the end of September, in Chelsea's Carabao Cup victory over Brighton & Hove Albion, and has played with protective tape on his wrist ever since.
The 22-year-old has now opted for surgery on the minor issue which will force him to miss action for Senegal over the next two weeks at least.
Jackson is an injury doubt for Chelsea
Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino cannot afford any more injuries and will be hoping Jackson is available after the break.
According to 90min, the surgery is not expected to keep the forward on the sidelines for too long.
There is some hope at the club that he could be ready to face Arsenal on October 21 at Stamford Bridge.
