Mykhailo Mudryk had a lacklustre start to life at Chelsea, but Mauricio Pochettino is still optimistic that he will perform at Stamford Bridge.

The winger has struggled to hit his best for the Blues since he was signed for a fee worth £88 million and has consistently been under pressure.

Since joining the Premier League, Mudryk has failed to score for Chelsea and has only experienced three victories.

Yet, Pochettino, who has yet to give the 22-year-old a start this year, is confident that his dedication on the practice field will soon pay off.

Pochettino believes in Mudryk

Pochettino advised Mudryk and his Chelsea teammates to establish the necessary level of trust in order to help the Ukrainian’s performance.

Pochettino told the Evening Standard, as reported by Daily Mail, “He’s a young player and a player that has a lot of talent.

“I think he needs to build his continuity and trust [with his team-mates], work hard in the training sessions during the week and continue to show he is ready to perform.

“We need to also build that trust with him and he needs to build it with us as part of the team, as is the same with many of our younger players.

“It will take a little time but there is no doubt he has enormous talent and quality and it’s only a matter of time before he settles into the team on a regular basis.”

Pochettino will aim to lead his team to victory over Luton on Friday night after suffering a devastating loss to West Ham on Sunday.
