West Ham’s defence were unable to cope with Jackson, marking his 50th Chelsea appearance for the Blues in all competitions as he delivered a superb performance to reach 29 goals for the club.

Jackson's performance against West Ham and his recent form have inevitably renewed comparisons with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who was touted as an upgrade to the former Villarreal man in the summer transfer window.
Cahill lauds Jackson after Osimhen links
2012 Champions League winner Gary Cahill was asked whether Jackson had proven that Chelsea made the right choice to abandon their pursuit of Osimhen and trust the Senegalese.
The former Chelsea centre-back was asked if Jackson was ready to take up the mantle as Chelsea’s number one striker, and he replied, “I think there’s a long way to go, that number nine shirt is very heavy. But he’s doing fantastically well, I don’t see why not.
“I think he’s more than capable of taking that number nine shirt and running with it if he stays fit and healthy.”
After five Premier League matches this season, Jackson has already scored four goals and provided two assists as he looks to become the main focal point upfront for the Blues this season.
