The Blues star is already showing signs of his immense potential and has the confidence of one of Chelsea's biggest icons
Chelsea great Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes that the club's star, Nicolas Jackson, has the potential to reach the same elite level as football heavyweights like Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
After a strong start to the season, Hasselbaink claims Jackson could soon be worth £150 million, putting him in the conversation with Europe’s top talents.
Hasselbaink talks up Jackson’s quality
Following Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Brighton, which saw Cole Palmer shine, Hasselbaink heaped praise on Jackson, who registered an assist.
"I like Nicolas Jackson a lot," Hasselbaink told Genting Casino, assing, "He causes defenders so much trouble. He’s starting to be the difference-maker, and that’s when a striker really earns his money."
Hasselbaink also noted that despite Jackson’s youth and inexperience at the highest level, he has all the tools to become a world-class striker, saying, "Nicolas Jackson and Erling Haaland are similar ages. Haaland has more experience in top-level football, but Jackson is catching up."
Hasselbaink predicts Jackson’s rise
The former Chelsea striker continued his praise of his descendant at the club, saying, "If Jackson fulfils his potential, he will be a £150 million player. He’s got the ability to do everything — he just needs to learn when to keep it simple and when to step up and be decisive."
With four goals already this season and comparisons to some of the biggest names in football, the pressure is on Jackson to deliver consistently for Chelsea, but Hasselbaink remains confident.
Jackson’s performances so far are a promising sign for Chelsea, as the young striker continues to impress in the Premier League this season, and it remains to be seen if the Blues star will fulfil the prophecy made by one of the club’s greatest strikers.
