The Italian manager has decided to quit football after 38 years in management
Former Chelsea, Leicester City, and Roma manager Claudio Ranieri has decided to call time on his managerial career after his latest magic moment to keep Cagliari in the Serie A.
Ranieri retires as celebrated manager
At the ripe old age of 72 years, Ranieri decided that it was time to take a rest from management, ending a 38-year career laden with notable achievements.
Ranieri will best be remembered for his unprecedented Premier League title win with lowly Leicester City in the 2015/16 season, but he was also the first manager of the Roman Abramovich era and led Chelsea to a second-place finish and a UEFA Champions League semifinal in the 2003/04 season.
Ranieri’s storied career in short
In addition to spells at Chelsea and Leicester City in England, Ranieri also managed Juventus, Inter, Napoli, Roma, Parma, Monaco, Atletico Madrid, and Valencia.
In total, Ranieri managed 19 teams in 38 years, before finally stating that he would retire at the end of the current campaign with Cagliari in Serie A.
