Chelsea & Arsenal legend Ashley Cole set to arrive in Nairobi next week

The former Arsenal invincible, who also won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2012, has given details of his scheduled visit to Kenya on March 14th 2025.

Former Chelsea and Arsenal left back Ashley Cole is expected to arrive in Nairobi, Kenya on 14th March after providing details of his scheduled visit to Kenya.

Cole, who retired in August 2019 to pick up a career in coaching, will be conducting a football clinic during his two-day stay, and will also be watching the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Chelsea, scheduled for March 16th at the Emirates Stadium.

In a video that has been trending online, Cole gave details of his visit, expressing excitement at the prospect of meeting up with his fans in Kenya.

“I am super excited to announce that on the 15th and 16th of March, I will be over in Nairobi to for the big watchalong between Arsenal and Chelsea,” Cole said in a video.

“Thank you to the guys from African Culture Enterprise. I will also be hosting a football clinic. I can’t wait to meet you and see you.”

Ashley Cole is widely regarded as one of the greatest left-backs in football history. He began his professional career at Arsenal, where he won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups, and was a key member of the "Invincibles" team that went unbeaten in the 2003-04 season. 

Cole also played in Arsenal's first UEFA Champions League final in 2006.

He then  transferred to Chelsea, where he continued to achieve significant success. During his time at Chelsea, he won another Premier League title, four FA Cups, one Football League Cup, and one UEFA Champions League title. 

Cole's seven FA Cup wins make him the player with the most FA Cup victories in history.

Internationally, Cole represented England from 2001 to 2014, earning 107 caps and playing in three FIFA World Cups and two UEFA European Championships.

He was named England Player of the Year in 2010 and is England's most-capped full-back. 

After retirement, Cole began his coaching career in 2019 as a youth coach at Derby County under Frank Lampard. He later joined Chelsea’s academy before reuniting with Lampard at Everton in 2022 as a first-team coach. 

In 2023, Cole became part of England’s U21 coaching staff, helping them win the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. He has since remained involved in youth development and coaching within the England setup.
