Recent reports have suggested LaLiga giants Real Madrid will target Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz as a replacement for the departing Karim Benzema.
So, Havertz to Real Madrid? Who saw that one coming? No one, probably. Despite his somewhat underwhelming performances, Real Madrid have clearly seen something solid enough to make them contemplate this move.
Real Madrid register interest in Chelsea's Kai Havertz
Here are three reasons why Chelsea should resist any approach from Real for their German forward.
1. Havertz has room to improve
Kai Havertz is only 23 and he has been entrusted with leading Chelsea’s line for the past two seasons at least. Considering the fact that it is not his natural position, added to the physicality of the Premier League, 23 goals in that time is certainly not a terrible return.
Havertz will thrive in his natural No.10 position and has shown he can find the net when it matters.
2. Pochettino’s ability to develop young players
New Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has a penchant for working with and developing young players.
Take Dele Alli for example, brought from League One to the PL and developed into one of the finest attacking midfielders in the league. Pochettino must be allowed to work with Havertz to bring the best out of him.

3. Havertz is a Big game player
Havertz has shown he can deliver the goods on the biggest stage. He won Chelsea ths Champions League in 2021, scoring with a fine finish against Manchester City and given the right circumstance, he can recreate those moments.
Havertz ability to see space and use it to his advantage as well as his ability to press the opposition at a high level are qualities Chelsea could use moving forward.
With a new manager and system in place, the German is bound to thrive and get back to his best.
