CATS Ladies will be representing the Southern conference at the National finals
Community Action Through Sports (CATS) Ladies have won the Southern Finals of the inaugural Girls Play Sports Football Tournament, held at the New Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle, Lagos.
CATS Ladies displayed an impressive performance throughout the tournament, beginning with a resounding 4-0 victory over Adewale Babes.
They followed it up with a 1-1 draw against Royaltoms Queens, demonstrating their resilience and determination.

Despite a defeat to Royaltoms Queens in their final match, Adewale Babes managed to secure second place in the group, edging out Royaltoms Queens on goal difference.
CATS Ladies, as the Southern champions, will now advance to the grand finale on September 29, 2024, in Abuja. There, they will face the Northern champions in a highly anticipated showdown for the ultimate title.

The Girls Play Sports tournament is set to help discover new talents for Nigeria.
"With this tournament, we are giving young girls the chance to showcase their talents and inspire the next generation of female footballers." She said.
"We are proud of the teams that have reached this stage, and we look forward to an exciting final in Abuja."
Over 60 grassroots clubs participated as attention now focused on the Northern Finals, scheduled to take place from September 23 to 25 in Abuja.
