Madrid fans expecting the club to add a name or two this January will be disappointed
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has declared that Los Blancos are effectively shut down for the January transfer window and will not be bringing in any new players or letting any players leave.
Ancelotti satisfied with current team
Speaking after his side dropped points in La Liga against Real Sociedad, the four-time Champions League winner said that Real Madrid were satisfied with the squad at their disposal and satisfied with the only deal that involved them this window, which was the capture of Brazilian wunderkind Endrick from Palmeiras, who will join them in 2024 when he turns 18.
Speaking after Real’s 0-0 draw with Sociedad, Ancelotti said, "the transfer market is closed for us. Nobody leaves, nobody arrives. Nothing will happen in January."
Real Madrid brought in French midfielder Aurelin Tchouameni for a deal worth €80 million that could rise to €100 million, and also signed German defender Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea in the summer.
Do Real Madrid need new signings?
The two players have been Los Blancos’ only signing this season, and they have done well to integrate themselves into the first team and become important players for Madrid.
Despite the successes of these transfers, Madrid will not be tempted to venture into the transfer market this January to plug any gaps in the team, even as they struggle to keep up with Barcelona at the top of the LaLiga table.
Madrid remain second on the table and are now closer to Real Sociedad in third than they are to Barcelona in first after dropping points in two of their last three league fixtures.
