The Indomitable Lions head coach Marc Brys has praised the growing unity within the team, despite ongoing boardroom tensions ahead of Kenya clash.

Cameroon national team head coach Marc Brys has expressed his optimism regarding the atmosphere within the Indomitable Lions camp as they prepare for two decisive matches against Kenya in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The Belgian tactician is confident that the positive environment will play a key role in the team's success.

The highly anticipated encounters are scheduled for October 11 in Douala, Cameroon, and October 14 in Kampala, Uganda.

Kenya are aiming to secure its place in the prestigious tournament, which is set to take place in Morocco.

Currently, Kenya sits atop Group J after a narrow 2-1 victory over Namibia, while Cameroon closely trails in second place, level on points.

The upcoming matches present a crucial opportunity for both teams to strengthen their positions in the group standings.

During the team's first training session at the Ngo Ekelle Stadium in Yaounde, Coach Brys highlighted the improvements made within the camp, particularly in terms of working conditions.

The gaffer appeared satisfied with the progress and confident that these improvements would positively impact the team’s performance.

"We're all very happy to be working together in such a positive environment," Brys said.

"For example, even something as simple as the clothing has improved, and that makes a difference. We always need people around us who are ready to support the team, and that's the case now. It’s much better than it was before."

Another area Brys touched upon was the technical staff, which now includes a blend of members appointed by the Ministry of Sports and those from the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT).

Despite the potential for challenges in coordination, the head coach expressed confidence in the cooperation between the two groups.

"We're pleased to have new members on board, and the teamwork has already shown positive results," Brys remarked.

"Of course, there's always pressure in football, especially when you're representing a nation, but that comes with the territory. We're focused on the matches ahead, and the atmosphere in the camp is fantastic."

Cameroon will have a prime opportunity to shift the momentum in their favor when they host Kenya on October 11 in Douala.

The Indomitable Lions are determined to use the home advantage to assert dominance before heading to Uganda for the reverse fixture on October 14.
