Fulham secured a draw against Arsenal at the Emirate stadium despite having a man down towards the end of the game.

The Gunners were coming from the back of two wins in a row and were looking for their third win of the new season.

Arteta’s men were only able to secure a 2-2 draw with Fulham despite coming back in the second half.

The away team scored the first goal right from the kick-off through Andreas Pereira’s goal but Arsenal came back in the second half, scoring two goals back to back from Bukayo Saka’s penalty and Eddie Nketiah’s goal.

As it Happened

Arsenal made two changes to the side who beat Crystal Palace 1-0 on Monday. Takehiro Tomiyasu is banned after being shown two yellow cards in that match and Jakub Kiwior comes in for him.

Leandro Trossard started in place of Eddie Nketiah who dropped to the bench and Gabriel Jesus also started from the bench.

Fulham also made two changes to the side who lost 3-0 against Brentford last Saturday. Captain Tim Ream is suspended after his dismissal during the defeat and Calvin Bassey replaces him, making his first start for the club since signing from Ajax in the summer.

Joao Palhinha starts in place of Harrison Reed after his comeback from injury as a substitute last week.

Fulham opened the scoring in the first minute of the game when an awful mistake from Bukayo Saka, who gave away the ball to Andreas Pereira with room to charge into the Gunners half.

He spots Aaron Ramsdale out of position and fires a curling shot into the vacant part of the goal.

Arsenal tried to get back into the game but failed to take their chances as the first half ended with Fulham leading.

The Gunners got a chance to equalise in the second half when Fabio Vieira got in behind Kenny Tete and the Fulham defender slid in to take him down.

Saka stayed cool as he faced his former teammate Leno before sending him the wrong way to give Arsenal the equaliser.

The Gunners got the lead just a few minutes after winning the penalty. Viera found space on the left to drive in a low cross for Eddie Nketiah to finish.

Fulham new signing Calvin Bassey later got sent off towards the end of the game after fouling Nketiah.

Arteta’s men could not keep the lead despite the red card and conceded again after Joao Palhinha sneaked in, to meet a dropping corner to steer the ball home.

The referee blew the final whistle as Arsenal dropped their first point of the season against Fulham.
