President William Ruto confirms when Kenya intends to hand over stadia for CHAN & AFCON tournaments
President William Ruto has insisted Kenya will stay true to the timelines given for the completion of stadiums to be used for CHAN 2025 and AFCON 2027 tournaments.
"As we speak, your stadium is not ready, so you can not say that you (Kenya) are ready but we are optimistic that given what we have seen, people will be ready," expressed Emeruwa who was in Kenya for continued inspection via Tata Sport.
"We have personnel that are trained already. What is going on in the stadiums is at a very high pace. I was there yesterday to see what is happening and it was quite different from when I came here two weeks ago. You can be sure that CAF will be coming to Kenya like every other week with different experts that will be here to support and to ensure that we get everyone ready for this big tournament."
Kenya will hope to meet FIFA standards when the final evaluation happens.
"So we can only give this evaluation at the end of our final inspection but for now we can tell you that we see that the work is going on, we see that they are still meeting according to the schedules they have presented," added Emeruwa
"So for me I would say from a security point of view yesterday I was at the police high command and with the police administration again they are ready in terms of personnel. And we are again encouraging by way of training. We will also come for more training specific to the tournament itself," he added
