Police were held to a 0-0 draw by Ethiopian Coffee at the Nyayo National Stadium last weekend but Kimani has revealed how they can still proceed to the next leg against Zamalek.
Kenya Police coach Anthony ‘Modo’ Kimani has explained how his charges will overcome Ethiopian Coffee in the second leg of the preliminary round of the 2024/25 CAF Confederation campaign in order to get through to the next round.
Kimani, who was appointed Police head coach last week given his CAF A coaching license, after departing Ulinzi Stars at the end of last season, oversaw his first match in charge of the Law Enforcers which ended in a 0-0 draw in a match that took place at the Nyayo National Stadium last Sunday.
The side will now be traveling to Ethiopia on Saturday in order to take part in the return leg, with the winner then getting to play Egyptian giants Zamalek in the playoff round to determine who will be playing in the group stages next season.

El Merreikh Bentiu coach has defended time-wasting tactics in CAF Champions League win over Gor Mahia.
Speaking after the match, Kimani, who vehemently spoke against his side’s lack of killer instinct, has now revealed what his charges are working on in order to make sure they are more efficient in Ethiopia on Sunday.
“The attacking third is one area we need to focus on,” Kimani told the media after the match.
“We were building very well from the back and we were composed (in the middle third) but it is only in the attacking third where we were a bit too clumsy and rushed a bit too much and that is why we were not able to capitalise the chances we created.”
True to his words, the hosts created numerous opportunities but failed to capitalise on them, as visiting keeper Dawit Teka left Nyayo having kept a vital clean sheet for his side.

“They are integral players for us and of course we missed them. We are, however, lucky we have good depth and I thought they did a good job for us today. Hopefully, they will be able to represent us well," added Kimani.
“Hopefully, once they have recovered from their injuries, they will be able to play a significant part in helping us get to the next level, especially as far as Messi is concerned.”
