Kimmich has played a vital role in the centre of Nagelsmann’s Bayern midfield during the year and a half that the pair have spent in Bavaria, and the Germany international appeared surprised to learn of his manager's impending dismissal.
Speaking ahead of Germany’s friendly game against Peru, Kimmich refused to be drawn on speculation of Nagelsmann’s departure from Bayern Munich, saying, “I absolutely understand that this is a hot topic at the moment. But there was no confirmation from the club, so I can’t and won’t say much about it.”
